The U.S. Gaming Association (AGA) recently collaborated with Fitch Ratings to assess the sentiment within the gambling sector. Their joint analysis unveiled a predominantly positive perspective among gaming leaders regarding the present condition of the market.

The analysis, derived from a poll of 26 executives representing diverse segments of the gambling industry, aimed to comprehend prevailing market anticipations and how those anticipations might evolve over the subsequent half-year.

A substantial proportion of participants (62%) portrayed the current business climate as “favorable,” with an extra 35% characterizing it as “adequate.”

Nevertheless, this positivity was moderated when considering the future. A mere 20% of executives projected that circumstances would enhance over the ensuing six months.

This guarded viewpoint can be ascribed to anxieties surrounding the wider financial landscape, potential fluctuations in consumer expenditures, and a general atmosphere of ambiguity.

Despite these apprehensions, the sector appears to be resilient. 65% of participants anticipate that business circumstances will stay largely consistent over the upcoming half-year.

“The gaming industry’s unprecedented progress has persisted into 2023, which is clearly mirrored in the attitude of gaming leaders nationwide,” remarked Bill Miller, AGA President and CEO.

“While forecasts of decelerating economic expansion in the U.S. have tempered the industry’s mid-year outlook, our sector is well-situated to weather any potential obstacles.”

Following an in-depth exploration of the daily operations of gaming companies, it’s evident that there’s significant enthusiasm for the future of gaming hardware. A substantial 88% of respondents expressed optimism regarding the revenue prospects of these cutting-edge devices, with nearly two-thirds anticipating their utilization in entirely novel and groundbreaking applications.

Although supply chain disruptions presented a considerable challenge during our previous assessment, the current global climate appears to be causing widespread anxiety – almost one-third of executives cite it as their primary concern moving forward.
