The popular game of Buzz Bingo is poised for substantial growth with its purchase of two Merkur Bingo establishments. Situated in Cricklewood and Northampton, these clubs are some of the United Kingdom’s most expansive and have been delighting bingo enthusiasts for more than two and a half decades. The Cricklewood venue is particularly remarkable, holding the Guinness World Record for the largest single bingo prize awarded! This acquisition comes on the heels of a prosperous period for Buzz Bingo, with the organization announcing impressive gains in revenue.
This strategic move clearly indicates a resurgence in bingo’s appeal, especially among younger demographics. Even Mecca Bingo, another prominent name in the UK, has implemented programs like complimentary Zumba sessions and “Loose Women” inspired scratch-off tickets to entice a more youthful audience. As Dominic Mansour, Chief Executive Officer of Buzz Bingo, aptly states, “Bingo is experiencing a revival in the UK.”
Mansour conveyed his excitement about the purchase, noting that the company is flourishing after a phase of steadiness. He was especially happy to incorporate the two well-known bingo halls into the business following a year of remarkable financial results. He underscored the rising appeal of bingo and stressed Buzz Bingo’s tactical placement for swift growth within this expanding sector. This strategic emphasis on expansion, he continued, was the impetus behind the choice to shift their online operations to Gibraltar.
It’s noteworthy that the bingo company encountered a slight obstacle earlier this year when their Halloween promotion was flagged by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) for breaching advertising guidelines. Nevertheless, Buzz Bingo swiftly recovered and later that month, revealed a promising collaboration with Future Anthem to implement novel customization elements to their products.
