The Ontario regulator responsible for alcohol and gambling, the AGCO, has named Dr. Karin Schnarr as its incoming Chief Executive Officer and Registrar. Dr. Schnarr possesses extensive experience, having held the position of Associate Professor of Strategic Management at Wilfrid Laurier University, where she also imparted knowledge on Public Policy. Her professional journey encompasses high-ranking roles within the Ontario government, notably a tenure as Chief of Staff where her focus centered on public policy, regulations, and legal frameworks. Furthermore, Dr. Schnarr has been a prominent advocate for women’s advancement in the workplace, spearheading endeavors to tackle the insufficient representation of women in STEM fields and entrepreneurial pursuits. Her involvement with iGaming Ontario, where she held a seat on the Board of Directors and presided over the Corporate Affairs Committee, makes her exceptionally well-suited to guide the AGCO as the realm of online gaming undergoes continuous development.

The AGCO Corporation (AGCO) enthusiastically embraced Dr. Schnarre as a new member of their governing body and conveyed sincere thanks and recognition to the departing Chief Executive Officer and Corporate Secretary, Tom Mungeam, who previously declared his intent to retire in March of 2023.

This announcement follows closely behind AGCO incurring a penalty of C$100,000 (US$74,387) for not fulfilling responsible gaming regulations in Ontario, Canada, connected to their subsidiary company, Apollo Entertainment.
