The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has asked for the blocking of nine additional foreign gambling websites and their related sites.
The agency stated that the nine websites were all in violation of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001 by offering services to Australian players without a permit.
Consequently, the ACMA has contacted Australian internet service providers to restrict access to Stay Casino, Bambet, Dazard Casino, Level Up Casino, Rocketplay Casino, Wild Tornado Casino, Cobra Casino, Cobra Bet, Casinority, and Pokies Lab.
The most recent blocking order signifies that 481 unlawful gambling websites have been blocked since the ACMA initially made blocking requests in November 2019.
Furthermore, over 160 illegal services have withdrawn from the Australian market since the ACMA commenced enforcing new regulations on illicit foreign gambling in 2017.
“The ACMA cautions consumers that even if a service seems legitimate, it is improbable to offer essential consumer protection measures,” the ACMA stated. “This implies that Australians utilizing illegal gambling services risk losing their funds.”
In the previous month, the ACMA additionally issued blocking directives for Golden Crown Casino, Sol Casino, PowBet, ExciteWin, Sportaza, and Gamble Online.
These six online platforms were also determined to be in contravention of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.
