Cosmic Games declared the selection of Meredith Brill as a fresh member of the company’s governing body, starting July 13th.
Brill will assume the board position previously occupied by William Zander, who stepped down on July 1st. She will maintain the role until the subsequent board election, which will occur at the annual shareholder gathering.
Brill is a Canadian intellectual property attorney and patent agent who worked at Bereskin & Parr LLP from 1998 to 2008. She then became a private investor and has been a stakeholder of Galaxy ever since.
During her tenure at Bereskin & Parr LLP, Brill was involved in all facets of patent drafting and legal proceedings, intellectual property portfolio management strategies, and competitive intelligence research.
Mark Liparelli, head of the Galaxy board, stated that Brill will be a beneficial addition to the company.
“Meredith is a valuable addition to the Galaxy board,” he said. “Her expertise in intellectual property directly relates to Galaxy’s business model, and as a long-time shareholder, she is very familiar with the company’s opportunities and challenges. We anticipate her contributions.”
This announcement follows Galaxy’s recent declaration of a new division dedicated to esports expansion and digital advancement.
“Having been a long-term investor in Galaxy, I am truly impressed by its business strategy and the achievements it has attained thus far,” stated Brill.
“I am enthusiastic about contributing to the company’s plans and operations, and I am eager to utilize my extensive experience in intellectual property to influence its future endeavors.”
Galaxy achieved profitability in 2021 after reaching record-breaking esports earnings.
