Three land-based gambling establishments in Massachusetts have been penalized for breaking state rules concerning collegiate sports wagering.

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) cited separate infractions at MGM Springfield, Plainridge Park Casino, and Encore Boston Harbor.

Plainridge Park Casino and MGM Springfield were both assessed a $20,000 penalty, while Encore Boston Harbor was fined $10,000.

These regulations have been in force since the state launched its regulated sports betting market in January. In-person betting commenced first, followed by online wagering in March.
